Iphone 3g Stuck on Pineapple Logo After Jailbreak 4.2.1

   My friend bought a 3G from CL and asked me to JB and unlock. I don't even remember the firmware it was on (although I'm sure I updated to the most recent, which I think is 4.2.1 for the 3G) and I'm pretty sure I used redsn0w. The phone wasn't mine so I just did this favor for a friend.

   WELL, they decided to sell it back on CL and tried doing a factory settings reset through the General>Settings on the phone. Now it's stuck on the pwnapple boot logo and I can't get it to do anything else. I can turn it off by holding both power+home button but I'm not really successful with anything else. I can't get it into DFU mode and can't get iTunes to recognize. Ultimately, I'd like to restore and reJB/unlock so my friend can sell it back on CL.

   Any suggestions? All help is appreciated! Thanks!!

   Put iphone into recovery mode for iTunes to detect so you can restore again.
   Recovery mode : Hold both button until screen goes off, let go the Power button but keep holding the home bt and at the same time plug in iphone until iTunes cable logo appears.

   Tried that. Doesn't work. iPhone isn't recognized by my iMac at all.

   FYi: I'm also running iTunes beta (for iOS 5 beta).

   You need to either trigger into dfu or recovery mode so iTunes can detect it.
   Try this : plug iphone in and hold both buttons for 10secs and let go power button but keep holding the home bt until you hear a beep

   W00t! That actually worked! After I tried about 10 times over the course of 2 days. :-X Thanks for your help!

   Do you know if I can still JB/Unlock and if my friend will have any future problems restoring?

   OK! So I finally got the phone show the iTunes Connect cartoon, but I can't seem to actually restore to stock 4.2.1. When I previously JB/unlocked I upgraded to the iPad baseband. Suggestions for what to do next? I'm pretty lost. :-\ I've been off the JB scene with my i4 during 5beta.... Thanks for any/all help in advance!
